We are not alone and we cannot pretend that we are. When we become adults, we must put aside childish things like greed and fear and hate. If we cannot support each other because of our differences, we must support each other in spite of them.
The Wheel of Time
The Wheel of Time is one of those stories that’s in my person pantheon of stories I will never get tired of re-reading. I have read and listened to the books dozens of times. I’ve watched every episode of the show at least three times, and I’ve thought about this story more than just about anything in my life. Sometimes I write those thoughts down on the off chance people might be interested. If you are…here you go.

The Wheel of Time is Woke as Fuck and Always Has Been
It’s about us—all of us—choosing the hope of something better over despair. It’s about collective action to make a better world, and if there’s a better definition of “woke” I haven’t seen it.
Why the Wheel of Time is Going to be the Biggest Show in the World
The Wheel of Time is going to be the biggest show in the world within four years. Here’s why.
The Top Nine Things I Want to See in The First Season of The Wheel of Time
Robert Jordan decided simple world building wasn’t enough, so he built thousands of years of worlds and the first actual glimpse we get of that is Moiraine’s “Weep for Manetheren” speech. It’s the first time we see everyday folks portrayed as heroes.

Why the Dark One Cannot Win
If the Dark One could break the wheel, he’d have already done it. He hasn’t. Therefore he cannot. #TwitterOfTime #TheWheelOfTime #WoTBookSpoilers
A Brief History of Cairhien, Andor, and the Wars of Succession
The Wheel of Time is renowned for its world building, but much of the backstory is delivered in bits and pieces at different times in different places and it’s not always easy to put the pieces together. This post will try to put some of those pieces together and explain how the history of Cairhien and Andor interact with the Aiel and the Dragon.
The World Should be Braided

The Rosamund Pike Audio Version of The Eye of the World
It was not what I expected, and the differences speak to the importance of the narrator.
Who is Slayer?
In a series renowned for it, Slayer represents both the best and worst of The Wheel of Time’s world-building. Here’s who he is.
What in the Name of a Bloody Two-Fingered Trolloc Haystack-Grunter Are the Creator and Dark One?
You can see in the light and you can’t in the Dark. I think Robert Jordan was telling us that the difference between good and bad is the ability to see the value of other people.
Why You’re Wrong About Egwene al’Vere
There are people out there who think Egwene al’Vere is both a bad person and a bad character. I’m convinced it’s because these people don’t understand Egwene or the role she plays in The Wheel of Time.
What if the WoT Catechism is a Comfortable Lie?
We’ve all read the catechism a million times. “The Dark One and all of the Forsaken are bound in Shayol Ghul, beyond the Great Blight, bound by the Creator, bound until the end of time.” We also know it’s wrong.

Perrin and Faile Sitting in a Tree S-P-A-N-K-I-N-G
Many people don’t like Perrin and/or Faile and I think those people are bug nuts who don’t understand what the two of them are all about. So I wrote this.
